About Embodied Computation Group
We are an interdisciplinary research group located at Aarhus University and at Cambridge Psychiatry led by Dr. Micah Allen.
Our research examines how decision-making and conscious perception are shaped by visceral and bodily processes. To examine the bodily brain, we use tools such as computational modeling, psychophysics, physiological goals, and advanced neuroimaging. Our work consists of both basic research in the neural mechanisms that support visceral inference and clinical research where we try to use these mechanisms worship to understand populations suffering from disorganized brain-body interaction and mental illness. Our work is supported by a large network of international partners, as well as generous support from the Lundbeck Foundation, Aarhus Institute of Advanced Studies and Cambridge Psychiatry.
